AALO, Sep 5: The District TB Forum and District Malaria Elimination Task Force(Malaria) meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner West Siang, Penga Taro today.
District Medical Officer Dr. Dubom Bagra briefed about the programmes of District Tuberculosis Forum and District Malaria Elimination programmes undertaken by the District Health Society. He informed that these two disease must be eliminated from the district before the target goal issued by the Government of India.
DTO Dr. Nyode Padu elaborately presented the aims and objectives and district profile of Tuberculosis. Stating that TB Forum of West Siang is covering all the individuals of the district, she appealed the DC, Panchayat leaders to encourage the public showing symptoms to come forward for testing.
During the meeting, TB champions shared their testimonials and were presented mementoes by the Deputy Commissioner Penga Tato.
Dr Marbi Riba Ete, DVBDCPO also elaborately presented aims and objectives and District Profile of Malaria. As per government target, malaria should be eliminated from the Arunachal Pradesh by 2025.
DC cum chairman called for conducting joint awareness programme in their jurisdiction as people are not aware of the Malaria and TB diseases. He also appealed the PRIs and programme officers to track the source of TB to prevent from further spreading. He also request DMO & Medical Superintendent to spread the free facilities provided by the government.
