Aalo, Oct 28: The West Siang District Administration on Monday conducted a draw of lottery for reservation of Zila Parishad and Gram Panchayat seats, ensuring 33% women reservation in the forthcoming Panchayati Raj elections scheduled to be held this December.
The entire process was conducted in a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful manner under the supervision of Liyi Bagra, Deputy Commissioner-cum-DEO, West Siang, and Mabi Taipodia Jini, ADC-cum-DPDO, at the Multipurpose Hall, Aalo.
The ZPM seats reserved for women through the lottery draw are Aalo East Lower, Aalo East Upper, 5-Aalo West UBU, 5A Aalo West UBU and 6-Liromoba.
The process was witnessed by observers, magistrates, and representatives from various political parties.
