ITANAGAR, Sep 28: Expressing deep frustration over the “lackadaisical and irresponsible attitude” of 11 newly transferred teachers who have failed to report to their designated posting places in West Kameng, the All West Kameng District Students’ Union (AWKDSU) has issued a final ultimatum, warning of a 48-hour democratic bandh if they do not join their schools by September 30.
In a strongly worded statement during a press conference, AWKDSU declared that teachers defying their posting orders must be terminated immediately, as “there are many qualified and deserving youths in the state who are ready and willing to serve in the education sector.”
The Union also slammed those teachers who are adamant not to join the school despite repeated orders from the Commissioner of Education and the Minister of Education himself.
“Our fight is not against the government but specifically against these 11 teachers who continue to defy their duties,” the union asserted. “We firmly believe that by September 30, all of them will join their designated schools. But if they remain adamant, AWKDSU will also remain adamant — and we will go to every level to ensure our demands are met, stated AWKDSU.
