Bomdila, May 6: The District Administration of West Kameng convened a coordination meeting to plan and review preparations for the upcoming Civil Defence Mock Drill, aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness and response capabilities in the region.
The meeting witnessed the participation of concerned stakeholders including representatives from the Indian Army, local police, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Medical Department and various other departments and voluntary organizations.
The mock drill scheduled for May 7, will take place in the market area of Bomdila. It will simulate a real-time emergency scenario to assess coordination, response time, and the overall effectiveness of the civil defence system.
The District Administration urged all participating agencies to ensure active involvement, effective communication, and readiness during the exercise. It also appealed to the general public not to panic during the drill, as the activity is purely a preparedness exercise conducted in the public interest. (DIPRO)
