BOMDILA, Sep 20: Deputy Commissioner, West Kameng Karma Leki convened a 2nd District-Level Committee meeting on Assam-Arunachal Border issues here at Bomdila.
While chairing the meeting, DC informed that the state government is concerned to resolve all the border issues with the neighbouring state of Assam in a peaceful manner. 
"Since the beginning of the border issue, both the State Governments have conducted a series of meetings at national and state level to solve the boundary issues. Now state government has instructed to form a local level committee to know the ground reality of the issues, but while discussing with the border issues, it should be keep it mind that issues will be discussed as per the survey report of Mr. Justice S. N Variava (Retd) 16th, Nov '2007. New additions to the area will not be entertained," he stated.
Concerned CBOs, PRI members and senior public shared the boundary history in the meeting.
Thrizoino MLA Kumsi Sidisow, Advisor to Minister Forest and Environment urged the inhabitants of the border to maintain decades old brotherhood with the neighbouring state. "Both the state governments are concerned about the boundary issues and it will be amicably resolved," he said.
Historical background of the West Kameng District since the British era was explained by CO (Border Affairs) Kesang Wangda.
