DC inaugurates school amenity
Namsai, Dec 22: A week-long mass Library Awareness program started on 13th December conducted by the District Library Namsai in 16 educational institutions in and around Namsai township area concluded on December 20 last.
More than 2500 students from Class VIII standard to University level took part in the program.
The program was initiated to implement 'The Arunachal Pradesh Public Libraries Act 2009’ in letter and spirit. The Act advocates to ensure all students are members of the local public libraries on reaching class VIII. Huge response has been reported during the program with more than 360 students having enlisted their names for library membership during the program.
Raju Dutta, PGT and S. Mukherjee, Librarian attended the entire program as a resource person. Earlier Namsai Deputy commissioner C R Khampa in a coordination meeting emphasized on mass participation of students in the library and to avail the maximum benefit offered by the fully automated District Library Namsai.
