ITANAGAR, Jun 26: Minister of Urban Development and Housing & Home, Kumar Waii today reviewed the status of various activities including implementation of various state and centrally sponsored flagship programmes at conference hall of UD and housing.
Chief Engineer cum Director, (UD &H) presented the status of the various activities of the department including implementation of flagship programs such as Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, National Livelihood Mission under state plan and other administrative issues.
Interacting with department officials, Waii suggested for maintaining strict financial discipline, quality and to adhere to the target as fixed for completion of projects. He also suggested for taking prompt initiatives for pro poor programs as launched by the central Govt. like NULM, PMAY, and SBM etc.
Waii also emphasized on the importance of maintaining cordial relationship with district administration and other head of office at various centers for smooth implementation of program and schemes.
After going through various issues confronting functioning of the department especially shortage of manpower for sanitation activities and light inspection vehicles for field officer, Waii assured to look into the matter on priority basis.
Exhorting divisional officers to give special focus while selecting beneficiaries for various schemes, he also called for imparting training to beneficiaries in specific selected trade as to make them skilled thereby enabling them to sustain their livelihood.
While participating in the review meeting, PS, UD, Techi Kaso urged the divisional officers to stick to the target for completion of important projects so as to avoid cost escalation and public criticism.
Secretary, UD, SK Jain requested DOs to give special emphasis on segregating solid waste in order to minimize the requirement of landfill site as separating of Degradable and Non degradable is the only scientific way for disposal of solid waste.
