ITANAGAR, Jun 15:Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, on his maiden two-day tour of Arunachal Pradesh arrived at Itanagar on Friday.

Governor BD Mishra received the Vice President at Raj Bhavan in presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Cabinet ministers and senior officers. A ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented to the Vice President by Arunachal Pradesh Police at the Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.

Later, Mr Naidu had a brief interaction with the Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Chief Secretary Satya Gopal.

He also planted a Red Sandalwood sapling (Rakta Chandana) at the front lawns of the Raj Bhavan.

The Vice President will be laying the foundation stone for seepage management system and storm water drainage system at Itanagar and address research scholars and faculty members of North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) at Nirjuli near here on Saturday.
