Itanagar, Jun 27: The two-day orientation programme for the Members of the 8th Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly concluded today with a valedictory session held at the Nokmey Namati Hall.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Pasang Dorjee Sona, delivered the concluding remarks, highlighting the importance of continuous learning, informed lawmaking, and ethical public service. He praised the initiative as a significant step toward strengthening democratic governance in the state.
In his valedictory address, Speaker Tesam Pongte expressed heartfelt appreciation for the active engagement of the Members and the insightful contributions from the expert resource persons of the Parliamentary Research & Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE), Lok Sabha Secretariat. He encouraged legislators to apply the knowledge gained to enhance the quality, integrity, and impact of legislative proceedings.
Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor extended a warm vote of thanks, acknowledging the invaluable support of PRIDE, the dedication of the organising team, and the enthusiastic participation of all Members, which collectively contributed to the programme’s resounding success.
Adding to the significance of the event, senior-most leader and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein attended the full duration of the two-day session, reflecting his unwavering commitment to legislative excellence and capacity building.
During the valedictory programme, the resource persons from PRIDE were felicitated for their invaluable guidance. Certificates of participation were also presented to all MLAs in recognition of their dedication and engagement throughout the orientation.
The programme concluded on an inspiring note, reaffirming the collective resolve to build a more informed, responsible, and people-centric legislature in Arunachal Pradesh.
