ITANAGARAR, Mar 17: The Urban ICDS Project, Itanagar launched the 15-day long "Poshan Pakhwada" celebration today by organizing various events at ‘P' Sector Anganwadi Centre with administrating of Poshan Pledge, nutrition education, distribution of vegetable seeds and a dance on handwashing steps performed by Area VI Anganwadi Workers. The program was attended by mothers and children of Ward No. 11, the Ward member, Resource person, office staff and field functionaries.
The CDPO Jaya Taba, briefed about the Poshan Pakhwada celebration and the Area of Focus during this fortnight long celebration. She said that the project will be carrying out various programmes in all the AWC's by involving all converging departments under Poshan Abhiyaan, PRI members, Corporators and Ward members of the Urban areas.
Natarajan Sekhar, Officer from Food and Nutrition Board, Govt. of India, attended the programme as a Resource Person and provided information with practical inputs of locally available vegetables and fruit that can be added to our daily diet for healthy lifestyle.
Attending the programme as the Chief guest Dindo Tasuk, Ward member of ward No. 11 lauded the department for providing services for the mothers and children and organizing such awareness programmes. He exhorted the participants to avail all the service provided by the department, take up Nutri Garden and also suggested the AWWs/AWHs to carry out their duties sincerely. DIPRO
