Yingkiong, Sep 9: Following the recommendation of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) for the implementation of POCSO and Child Rights awareness in all educational institutions, government offices, and commercial establishments, the District Administration, Upper Siang has launched a series of awareness sessions across the district, including administrative outposts.
The sensitization cum awareness programme on implementation of POCSO and Child Rights was organized at Conference hall, DC office Yingkiong for all government officers and staff on Monday.
The programme is being organized under the supervision of Ine Pertin, Deputy Director (ICDS), Department of Women and Child Development, Upper Siang.
Advocate Omem Apang, Para Legal Counsellor, One Stop Centre (OSC), Upper Siang, delivered a detailed session on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, emphasizing the importance of preventing and reporting sexual offences against children. Advocate Akoying Tekseng, Legal cum Probation Officer, District Child Protection Unit, Upper Siang, sensitized the officials on Child Rights and relevant laws aimed at safeguarding children from abuse, exploitation, and neglect.
