ITANAGAR, May 31: With apprehension of some foul play in organizing centrally sponsored ‘Khelo India’ initiative, Adi Students Union (AdiSU) in its representation to Secretary Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh has requested to maintain the guidelines of said scheme by organizing the entire sports event from Block level.
In its representation, AdiSU asserted that, as per the guidelines of Khelo India (clause 3.2.1 ) the competition should be held at Block/District/State and National level with five distinct age groups as well as separate set of competitions for physically challenged candidates. However as per the information, the concern department is organizing the state level competition in one go from June 6 to 8 next at Sangay Lhaden Sports Complex, Itanagar defying the laid down norms of organizing in block or district level.
