ITANAGAR, July 6:  Union Minister for Jal Shakti may soon visit Arunachal to review and assess the losses caused by the flash floods and landslides, informed Lok Sabha member of parliament Tapir Gao.
While responding to query, Gao informed that during the last executive meeting of the BJP held on July 2 and 3 last, he personally apprised the concerned Union Minister to take the issue seriously and requested him to visit the state. "I have requested the Minister to visit the state in the summer, then only the authority will know the ground reality about how much damages have been caused by the calamities," he said.
Gao further added the neighbouring state of Assam is also facing the same crisis of flood, but in Arunachal, we are facing both floods and devastation. Many roads, bridges, and other infrastructures get destroyed in flash floods, and landslides every year. Moreover, such natural calamities fully changed the geography of Arunachal every year, asserted Gao.
He also urged the citizens to stay alert and avoid staying near the river banks as well as landslide prone areas.
