NAMSAI, Nov 8: On an official visit to Namsai, Union Minister of State for Education Dr Subhas Sarkar on Tuesday chaired a review meeting on Aspirational District Programme at Namsai in presence of the district Deputy Commissioner CR Khampa, senior officers of district administration, head of departments and officials of concerned departments.
The review meeting primarily focussed on indicators such as health & nutrition, education, agriculture & water resources, financial inclusion & skill development, etc.
The Union Minister of State, lauded the district for achieving various targets and good work progress in all the sectors. He took a comprehensive sector wise review of Aspirational District Program. During his interaction with the officers, he sought information on any gaps and observations made in the field that needed to be focussed on. He emphasised on promoting cleanliness amongst students and teachers in every schools and advised that the message of using water twice, i.e before and after the use of toilets should be displayed in all the school toilets.  He advised the DDSE to conduct quarterly faculty and parameter improvement meetings. 
Addressing the matter of Jal Jeevan Mission, he urged the officials to create awareness amongst the masses to instill in them the sense of ownership. He mentioned that the matter for establishing a medical college in Eastern Arunachal shall be endorsed to the ministry.  Later after the session, while addressing to a question raised during the press briefing, he clarified that, under Rashtriya Siksha Niti, 2020 focus is given on promoting mother tongue and regional languages. “The policy has no motive to impose the use of Hindi language”, he mentioned.

Union MoS also laid the foundation stone for a birth waiting home  funded by Niti Aayog at Namsai. 
Earlier DC Namsai in his welcome address talked about the status on Aspirational district programme, its progress and the areas requiring improvement were briefed. 
District Planning Officer cum Nodal Officer (ADP), Shri Keshab Sharma gave a detailed sector wise power point presentation and briefed about the progress, achievements and bottlenecks of various parameter under Aspirational Districts Programme. He apprised that scoring has improved in Health and nutrition sector since 2018 when the programme was launched. Financial inclusion, Skill development and HR gap in health department were the KPIs requiring improvement. He further briefed about the plans that have been laid to enhance the performance of the district under ADP.  DIPRO
