ITANAGAR, Apr 28: The one day Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Birth Centenary Celebration Prashikshan (Orientation Training) for the Chief Minister and cabinet minister, parliamentary secretaries, legislators, Councillors, Panchayat members and party office bearers  of BJP, Arunachal Pradesh concluded today  at Art of Living centre at Jully, Itanagar.

The training programme was addressed by resource persons from central BJP office, New Delhi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu along BJP State President, Tapir Gao.

In his remark on the occasion, Gao stressed on all party members the importance to understand the philosophical and ideological background of BJP to understand the working system of BJP.  ‘This assumes urgency now as Arunachal Pradesh is ruled by BJP and all the development initiatives of the BJP comes from the principle of Antyodayaand Sarvodaya,’ said Gao. He further added that for Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas dictum to be a reality in Arunachal Pradesh, the values and culture of BJP has to be internalised by all the BJP members.

Speaking on genesis and growth of BJP, National General Secretary Muralidhar  Rao, said that today BJP is the largest party in the world because of the strong foundation laid by its founding figures like Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. He opined that BJP is the only truly democratic party where there is internal democracy within the party, where Party chief is elected not selected on the basis of lineage.

‘BJP has grown from strength to strength because it is the only party which considers interest of the nation as foremost and take decisions through a consultative process. Therefore, it is a party with a difference and accordingly all the BJP ruled states must have higher standard of governance than states ruled by other parties,’ he said.

North East Zone General Secretary (Organisation), Ajay Jamwal, spoke at length on the working system of BJP. The salient point he drove home was that BJP is one family; therefore, all party karyakartas much treat each others like family members. There should be strong sense of ‘we’ feeling among the party workers. He also opined that discipline, dedication and commitment towards welfare of the people are very important for winning the trust and confidence of the people towards the party.

Delving into the concept of integral humanism, the ideological tenets of BJP propounded by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, former Member of Parliament and BJP ideologue Dr. Mahesh Chandra Sharma, opined that integral humanism was an alternative approach to management of human affairs from socialism, capitalism and communism. Unlike theories propounded by western thinkers, integral humanism believes in a balance and holistic development of society and individual in consonance with its environment.  Integral Humanism propagate development of all section of society with emphasis on development of the most downtrodden section (Antyodaya) in society.

Sharing his thoughts on national security issues, Dr. Tarun Vijay said that the greatest threat to a nation is its weakness and ignorance. Therefore, he opined that it is very important to build strong nation and educated population first as a first line of defence. He shared the various policies and steps undertaken by Prime Minister Modi in recent time in strengthening the security of India. He assured the gathering that now India was in a much better position than before under the strong leadership of Modi.

On good governance, Dr. Tangor Tapak, former BJP President and former Minister, shared that good governance is the one that is inclusive, people oriented and pro–poor, innovative, creative, proactive, transparent, accountable, fair and just  and corruption free .

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, speaking on the occasion shared his thoughts and steps taken by his government for development of Arunachal Pradesh. He opined that Arunachal Pradesh being a mountainous State has many challenges owing to its topography; however, at the same time there are many potentials and opportunities also. He   expressed that his government will be giving thrust to growth potential sectors such tourism hydropower, agriculture, forests and mining etc.  He cited that the budget of this year was the first steps in this direction and he urged all the party workers to take advantages of various schemes and policies of the State Government.

The training programme was attended by more than 500 delegates from all over the State.
