ITANAGAR, Dec 31: Coming as  much relief to Arunachal Pradesh, the two UK returnees to the state have tested negative, thereby ruling out the chances of them being the carriers of the new UK variant of SARS known as Co-V-2.
This was informed by the State Health Department through the COVID-19 Bulletin on Thursday. The two returnees from the UK were tracked with the help of passengers’ list shared by the NCDC and both of them were found to be asymptomatic. After being tested negative through RT-PCR tests, they are now under strict home isolation. Meanwhile, on the last day of the year, there were 8 more additions with 3 from Tawang. 15 patients were also discharged on the day with 9 in Tawang and 3 in the ICR. So far the state has seen 56 COVID casualties and after discharge/cure of 16564 patients, active cases now stand at 99.
