ITANAGAR, Jun 6: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today reviewed the status of establishment of Crude Palm Oil Mill in the state. Two Oil Palm Mills are proposed to be established at Roing and Niglok (Ruksin) in the state. Mein directed the Secretary Industries and the Secretary Agriculture to facilitate immediate establishment of the two proposed mills at Roing and Niglok without further delay. The meeting was attended by Tage Taki, Minister (Agri and allied), W. Rajkumar, Chairman (APIDFCL), P Lokhande Commissioner (Planning & Investment), Bidol Tayeng Secretary (Agriculture) and Hage Tad Secretary (Industries).
Earlier in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Minster (Agriculture) Tage Taki, the land-lease between APIDFC Ltd and RSIL at Industrial Growth Center (IGC), Niglok (Ruksin) was finalized. The outstanding issue of land-lease was resolved and the MoU for the same is proposed to be signed between APIDFC Ltd and Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd (RSIL) on June 8 next.
The representatives of two Oil Palm developer and processor companies engaged in the state for Oil Palm development namely Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd (RSIL) and 3F Oil Palm Pvt Ltd (FOP) were also present in the meeting. While 3Foil Palm Pvt Ltd has already finalized the land for establishment of Crude Palm Oil mill at Roing by acquiring 50 ha land, the Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd has also finalized 15 Ha land at Industrial Growth Center (IGC), Niglok in East Siang. As per the meeting decision, the representatives of RSIL will visit IGC, Niglok on Tuesday and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed for acquiring the land and subsequent establishment of the GPO Mill at Niglok under East Siang District.
At present Oil Palm plantations in the state has started producing Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFBS). During 2021-22, FFB of 700 Mt worth Rs. 56.00 lakh were procured by the two companies engaged by the State from the farmers on buy-back mode as per the MoU signed earlier. However, due to non-establishment of CPO Mills in the state, the procured FFBs from the farmers are currently being dumped away by the companies without processing. With the establishment of the proposed GPO mills at two locations in the State, the Oil Palm farmers' long pending demand for establishment of GPO mill will see the light of the day.
Govt. of India has given more target of Oil Palm area expansion of 40,000 ha for next four years in the state.
