Itanagar, Dec 4: A brutal crime shook Passa Camp village late on December 3 last when two residents were murdered, and one critically injured, in a violent attack.
As per the press communique from police, the accused has been identified as Vijay Bumich (31), a resident of Harmuti, Lakhimpur District, Assam, who allegedly attacked and killed Singkap Techi (45), and Mema Gyadi (50). Both victims died at the scene. One Chuma Techi (25), was critically injured and is currently undergoing medical treatment.
Pakke Kessang Police quickly registered a case under Sections 103(1)/109(2)/117(2) BNS at the Pakke Kessang Police Station. Sub-Inspector Tage Kapa has been appointed as the Investigating Officer.
The police apprehended the accused shortly after the incident and have commenced a detailed investigation to determine the motive behind the attack.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Pakke Kesang Tasi Darang issued an advisory emphasizing the need for vigilance while employing labourers, stressing measures like proper Identity Verification, address proof and character antecedents with the Police Department, Ensure all labourers possess a valid Inner Line Permit (ILP), and to provide separate housing for labourers, away from the primary household.
