BANDERDEWA, Apr 2:  A disturbing act of violence unfolded at a fish shop in Banderdewa market area on Wednesday evening, leaving two workers seriously injured. The incident occurred around 6:30 PM, when a man identified as Phassang Niya arrived at the shop and demanded 3 kg of fish on credit.
When the shop workers refused to provide the fish on credit, the accused adamantly insisted before turning violent. In a sudden escalation, he pulled out a local machete (sharp weapon) and attacked  Arun Hazarika(Co-worker), who sustained a deep cut on his forehead, and another suffered injuries to his ribs. Both victims were left grievously injured and were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
Following swift action by law enforcement, SP Naharlagun Mihin Gambo confirmed that the accused Phassang Niya has been arrested, and the situation is now under control. The SP further urged people from both sides to maintain peace and avoid any further escalation of the incident. He assured the victims and the public that justice will be served as per the law and strict action will be taken against the perpetrator.
