PASIGHAT, Jun 8: Two accused in the sensational murder of a Rural Bank cashier at Mebo in 2018 were sentenced to life imprisonment today.
The Sessions Judge, East Siang, Pasighat Budi Habung found the two accused, Subash Mondal and Ramesh Yadav guilty of commission of offence of planned murder of Bomge Nyori, Cashier of Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank, Mebo Branch, inside the Bank in the evening of 7th February, 2018, in furtherance of their common intention to commit murder and then to rob the bank.
Both the accused Subash @ Haradhan Mondal and Ramesh Yadav have been convicted and sentenced to undergo life imprisonment each and fine of Rs.10,000 each.
Earlier this year, the Sessions Judge, Pasighat has also convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment with fine to four accused persons in Kaying PS case 10/2012, U/S 302/34 IPC, R/W section 27 (1) Arms for offence u/s 120B/302/34 IPC r/w 25/27 (1) of Arms Act. The Session Judge also convicted and sentenced to life Imprisonment to 1 (one) accused person in Yingkiong PS C. NO. 57/06, U/S 302/307/326 IPC (State-Vs- Tayum Bikku) for offence u/s 302/326 IPC.
On being asked, the learned Special Public Prosecutor, POCSO Act, advocate Sanjay Taye, informed that the Sessions Judge cum Special Judge POCSO Act, East Siang, Pasighat has also convicted and sentenced seven accused persons in seven sexual offences cases including six accused persons for offence under POCSO Act and sentenced them to Rigorous Imprisonment ranging from three years to seven years with fine.
