KHONSA, Aug 2: The Tirap Police apprehended two drug peddlers in separate incidents.
Based on reliable information about possession and trafficking of narcotic items, a team led by Dy.SP (HQ) Togum Gongo and SI B Mossang, conducted a surprise raid at the residence of one Wangsam Wachok at Patkai colony Khonsa. During the raid, police team discovered 30.97 grams of narcotic substances concealed inside a plastic container. The substances were immediately seized in the presence of Town Magistrate Dr. Ripi Doni CO, Khonsa, and the accused, Wangsam Wachok, was taken into custody.
In another successful operation, while conducting mobile patrolling along the Hukanjuri-Borduria Highway, the Tirap Police intercepted a vehicle bearing Arunachal registration. During questioning, the driver Chawang Aboh, resisted providing details, leading the police to conduct a thorough search of the vehicle. The search yielded five soap cases containing approximately 55.5 grams of suspected contraband substances. The police immediately seized both the vehicle and the contrabands in the presence of Executive Magistrate Lim Modi before arresting Chawang Aboh.
