NAHARLAGUN, Dec 16: Two separate cases of unfair means during the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (Preliminary) 2024 have been registered at Naharlagun Police Station following complaints from examination authorities.
The first case, registered as Naharlagun PS Case No. 157/24 under Section 318(2) of the BNS, was reported by the Centre Superintendent of Kendriya Vidyalaya, C-Sector, Naharlagun. A mobile phone was discovered in possession of a candidate, Ms. Mudang Yabyang, a PWD examinee, inside the examination hall. The phone was seized during the investigation, and Ms. Yabyang’s statement was recorded. She was subsequently allowed to leave, with instructions to cooperate fully with the ongoing inquiry.
The second case, registered as Naharlagun PS Case No. 158/24 under Section 305(e) of the BNS, was based on a complaint from the Centre Superintendent of Government Higher Secondary School, G-Sector, Naharlagun. An OMR sheet belonging to a candidate, Ms. Binam Teng (Roll No. 110069), was reported missing from the examination hall. During the investigation, the missing OMR sheet was recovered from Ms. Teng’s possession, who claimed to have taken it home by mistake.
Further investigation is in process, stated a release from the SP Office Naharlagun.
