RUPA , Jan 18:  Rupa police arrested two persons under the NDPS  Act  and seized contraband drugs weighing 1.88 gm.
In  its press statement , Rupa police informed that on January 17 last  contraband substance was recovered at Nag Mandir area from one Bishal Sarkar from his pick-up which was en route to Tawang from Tezpur, Assam with vegetables.
Brown Sugar weighing 1.88 gm in 12 vials, one mobile phone and vehicle was seized in presence of Magistrate L. Rollen (CO- Jamiri) and other witnesses. During the investigation, the driver disclosed that he  brought the drug from Tezpur and was supposed  to handover at Bomdila and Dirang.

In the meantime,  two persons namely  Koncho Khirme and one minor, 17, reached to take over few vials from the driver, and were detained.
Sarkar and Khirme have been arrested and kept in police custody after medical examination. However, the minor has been handed over to his guardian, police said.
