Naharlagun, Nov 28: In a decisive operation against drug trafficking, the Naharlagun Police apprehended two individuals involved in the illegal procurement and sale of narcotics in the G-Extension area. Acting on reliable information, a police team led by Inspector Krishnendu Dev, under the supervision of SDPO Rishi Longdo, conducted a swift operation to crack down on the illegal activities.
Rahul Roy (29), the primary suspect, was intercepted during the operation, and 31.8 grams of suspected ganja were recovered from his possession. Subsequent interrogation led to the arrest of another individual, Miss Dagmi Rime (26), believed to be a drug peddler. From her, the police recovered two vials containing suspected heroin in small quantities.
The duo has been booked under Case No. 144/24 at Naharlagun Police Station under Sections 20 (b) (ii) (A), 21(a), 27, and 29 of the NDPS Act, 1985. Both accused are now in custody as investigations continue to uncover the extent of their drug network.
