BORDUMSA, Sep 7: In a swift police operation, two people have been arrested within 24 hours for their involvement in the broad daylight murder of a CRPF Jawan Sunil Kumar Pandey. Both the accused have been apprehended in connection with the murder and are from Namsai.
The accused individuals have been identified as Chow Newata Mein and Chow Aravi Khen from Namsai District. Both have been arrested and handed over to the Madhavpur Police, Assam, on Thursday, as the incident occurred near the border of Bordumsa (Arunachal) and Madhavpur (Assam).
Speaking to the media, Additional Superintendent of Police – Tinsukia, Bibhas Das, informed that after receiving information about the incident, all available resources were mobilized. All CCTV footage was reviewed, and with the assistance of Namsai Police, both the accused were apprehended within a few hours.
Both accused  are from Namsai, and according to preliminary investigations, a drug connection in the case has been established. The SP also added that the CRPF jawan was on a mission to apprehend drug peddlers in plain clothes based on information from reliable sources.
Furthermore, he mentioned that a murder case has been registered against both accused individuals, and the investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, thousands of people from Bordumsa town participated in a candlelight march organized to pay tribute to the slain CRPF Jawan. The public demanded exemplary punishment for the culprits in accordance with the law and strong action against the drug menace in the Bordumsa area.
