ITANAGAR, Apr 13: A day after the  Arunachal Pradesh Police gave out details on late Tumi Gangkak's mysterious death case and termed his death as suicidal in nature, the Galo Welfare Society (GWS)  today outrightly rejected the statement and registered its dissatisfaction on the same.
Addressing the media at the press club here today, General Secretary GWS, Nyadar Loya said that the society rejects the reasoning issued by the police department on Gangkak's death. The deceased never used blade for shaving but used trimmer and scissors. Therefore, the statement by the police that they seized blade from the deceased house and from the incident site is not satisfactory, he said.
Contesting police claim that it has verified through CCTV footage that the deceased was alone throughout the time before the incident in his car, Loya said "The CCTV footage is of lowest visibility, and how can the police be so sure that the person in the vehicle was the deceased. Likewise, how can the police confirm that it was the deceased who was in conversation with the alleged accused Inspector (SIC) Bumchu Krong without confirming it with the family members."
The GWS further challenged the police to prove that the person who was driving the vehicle was indeed late Gangkak.
“The deceased was mentally stable and was happy celebrating his daughter’s birthday before the incident. So, there is no way he (deceased) was in depression, which ultimately resulted in suicide,” he said, adding that the society  also doubt foul play by Inspector (SIT) Bumchu Krong in the case.
GWS said the involvement of Krong  in the alleged murder is questionable because the deceased didn’t go straight to the CBI office after he received the call. Rather, according to sources the deceased went straight to Zoo road area in the city outskirts.
“Moreover, how can a person hang himself to a tree (bamboo) which is around 9ft and in a steep location? Looking into all aspects suicide doesn’t make any sense and is next to impossible without someone’s involvement,” Loya added.
He also said that the police department should refrain from making an effort to bring the case to closure by bringing out another angle of "google search on depression"  by the deceased before death.
The GWS will soon call a meeting to discuss further course of action on the case.
