TEZU, May 30: Nearly a week after officials of the Divisional Forest , Lohit seized three Trucks illegally carrying timber, once again forest officials on Tuesday seized another 4 carrying 21 Logs, during a routine patrolling held under the supervision of DFO S Manyu.
The two trucks were reportedly caught in the wee hours of May 30 and later another two trucks and a Tractor laden with logs were taken hold at 7 AM in the same morning by a team led by Ranger, Ram Ering, thereby exposing the widespread illegal operation of the timber business in the district.
Drivers of the Trucks were detained under Forest custody for further interrogation, while the Driver of the Tractor managed to flee from the spot after taking advantage of the darkness, informed the DFO adding that patrolling has been intensified round the clock to contain illegal transportation of logs.
