Deomali, Jan 21: Eight trucks loaded with illegal timber and a crane was  seized during a surprise night patrolling on the Namsang -Hukanjuri stretch by 18th Garhwal Rifles, Deomali Camp led by Captain Suraj Rai in collaboration with Deomali Administration. The seized items were handed over handed to DFO Deomali for formal lodging of complaints under Forest Acts and other due procedures.
As per input received from ADC Deomali Vishakha Yadav, IAS and CO Dr. Balban Kamlo, the seized trucks containing 62 number of logs and one crane is now under the custody of the Forest department, Deomali Division.
Logging activities have become a menace and a budding ground for underground activities, ADC Yadav added.
