ITANAGAR, Sep 5: A 3-day Block Level Orientation Training Programme on the Localization of Sustainable Development Goals (LSDG) for preparation of comprehensive Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) got underway at Mariyang CD Block in Upper Siang District.
Inaugurating the programme, Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM) Mopom, Nano Moyong elaborated on the importance of such training to the locals and further stressed that unless the local self-government is aware, implementation of government schemes is a distant dream. He further requested the participating GPCs and GPMs to deliver their duties with utmost dedication and sincerity.
Assistant Director-cum-Course Coordinator, SIRD&PR, SW Bagang highlighted the role of PRIs and GP Level LSDG Committee in the attainment of LSDG within the time frame as set by the Ministry. He further, elaborated on the role of GPs in attaining LSDG by taking 'Sankalp' on every theme one after another until saturation levels are attained.
Circle Officer cum member Secretary of Mopom, Jyoti Borang requested the participants to avail the training at their doorsteps. Thematic experts from line departments like Women and Child Development, PHED, and Education took sessions in their respective fields. Altogether, 85 participants comprising the LSDG Committee attended the programme.
