ITANAGAR, Oct 18: The Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship has started a two week training of trainers (ToT) programme on operation/maintenance of Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Medical Oxygen Generation Plants at TRIMHS, Naharlagun. The training will be imparted by master trainer Sudip Goswami, Superintendent of Central workshop, Government Medical College Agartala, Tripura to 15 ITI Instructors who are mostly Graduates in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. After completion of the ToT they will impart same kind of training on operation and maintenance of the PSA oxygen plants in every district of the state.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the requirement of PSA oxygen plants in all the hospitals has been felt and  44 PSA plants have been installed in Arunachal Pradesh, covering all the districts of the state.
It is observed that skilled manpower is required to run the PSA plant and to address this Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship has started capacity building for operation/maintenance under the guidance of Director General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, GoI.  
Subu Tabin, Director, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship rolled out the training and advised the ITI instructors to be regular and learn the nitty- gritty of the Operation/maintenance of the plant as  the trainee of PSA Oxygen plant are going to be frontline workers and will play a vital role in case of a  third wave of COVID 19 pandemic. 
Goswami informed that already 100 hrs of online theory classes has been conducted and they were here at TRIMHS to do the practical onsite training for the next two weeks where the trainees will be given training for minimum of 6 hours a day. 
The programme was also attended by J. Riba Asst. Director, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
