Itanagar, Aug 31: A consultative cum sensitisation meeting of the Itanagar Town Planning Authority was held today to discuss regarding the implementation of Itanagar Master Plan 2031, a visionary document for better Itanagar which will foresee development of the city in every aspect. The IMP 2031 also implies that the land use and construction activities within Itanagar planning area shall be regulated by Itanagar Planning Authority.
Director Town Planning, Likha Suraj gave a presentation on Town planning legislations since its inception in Arunachal Pradesh and the roles and responsibilities of the Department. He informed that for any purpose of use of land, mandatory ‘development permission’ has to be sought from the Itanagar Planning Authority under US-29 of Arunachal Pradesh Urban & Country Planning Act, 2007 which prohibits development without payment of development charges and without permission which says that any person or anybody intending to carry out any development on any land shall make an application in writing to the IPA for permission in such forms and containing such particulars.
The master plan 2031 if strictly implemented, our city would be at par with other developed cities of the country in every aspect, Suraj said. He also stressed that land is a resource which is fixed and cannot be increased, hence it is our responsibility to develop it in a regulated way.
He also explained in detail about the Components of GIS  based master plan of Capital Itanagar  2031.
The Deputy Commissioner Capital Itanagar cum Chairman Itanagar Planning Authority Talo Potom stressed on strict implementation of master plan while also stressing that strict action would be taken against the violators. He said that for development of any city, every aspect right from parking to cleanliness and all other components under Master Plan has to be followed to prevent unauthorised development. 
He also said that any new cases of construction/ development of land would be to be taken up only as per the master plan. He urged all concerned to work in coordination with each other for strict implementation of the master plan.
Tabom Tamut, ATP cum Member Secretary Itanagar Planning Authority  gave a brief insight of the MP2031 and shared about various modalities for the successful implementation of the plan.
CO Shania Kayem Mize, said that the master plan is an ideal concept to build a city in a planned manner. She informed that the meeting has been convened to bridge the knowledge gap between denizens of Itanagar and Itanagar Planning Authority and so NGOS, private individuals etc were invited to clear the common queries doubts related to implementation of Master Plan.
Officials, public representatives, NGOs and people from all walks of life attended the meeting.
