ITANAGAR, Jul 26:The state government accords top most priority to skill development of the youth force of the state, said Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein while gracing the valedictory function of three-month-long skill training in hospitality at Tadar Taniang Hall, Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC) here today.
While congratulating the trainees, DBYC and NHPC, Mein called upon the trainees to come out of the comfort zone to develop themselves.  “Hospitality should be backed by a strong civic sense,” said the DCM, exhorting the trainees to appreciate others and other cultures. 
He spoke on the prime importance that Chief Minister Pema Khandu, has given to youth of the State, especially through the implementation of Deendayal Upadhyay Swavalamban Yojana. He urged upon the youths of the state to come forward and take advantages of the schemes.
Earlier while speaking about his early school days at Don Bosco Guwahati, the DCM spoke of the great influence that it had on him then and continues to influence him today.  “I am what I am today due to the education I received from Don Bosco”: said an emotionally charged Chowna Mein.  He also appreciated his first teacher Fr. V. T. Thomas, who was also present at the occasion.
Rev. Dr. John Thomas, Bishop of Itanagar, expressed appreciation of DBYC and described it as a place of moulding the young people who comes from different rural areas to train them in skills and equip them with life skills. 
Rev. Fr. V. T. Thomas SDB, the teacher of DCM expressed great happiness in the fact that his student is today the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal and felicitated the DCM.  He also congratulated the Director and staff of DBYC, for taking the initiative by providing free skill training for the welfare of the youths in Arunachal Pradesh. He also called upon the trainees to work wholeheartedly and make their placement a happy event. 
Ronel Kumar, Executive Director, NHPC Ltd., while congratulating the trainees for the discipline shown and taking up placement courageously whished that the placement will enable the trainees to empower themselves and grow not only in size, but in stature as well. 
Also present in the function were, Tokong Pertin Director Trade and Commerce, Yumlum Kaha Director SJETA, Pravesh Kumar Senior Manager (HR) NHPC, Anil Kumar 2 IC CRPF 138 Bn, Paras Nath Commandant CRPF 138 Bn, Kime Aya SP Fire and Emergency Service, Executive members of APCA and Don Bosco Alumni.
