ITANAGAR, Nov 6: In response to prolonged delay in the construction of National Highway 415, package B (Papunalah to Nirjuli), Chief Minister Pema Khandu underscored the project’s importance and the need for prompt resolution.
Responding to media query, Khandu informed that a meeting was held with the Minister of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) recently.
During discussions with Gadkari, Khandu revealed that the subcontractor currently handling the project, TK Engineering, would be removed due to its unsatisfactory performance. “For such a critical project, we need an equipped and reliable company that can complete the work on time,” the Chief Minister emphasized.
Khandu proposed handing the project to a more capable and well-equipped construction firm. To this end, a meeting has been scheduled with the main construction company and the Public Works Department (PWD) Highway Division to finalize new arrangements for the project’s completion.
NH-415 is a key route expected to enhance connectivity and economic growth in the region. The delay has drawn widespread public concern due to its impact on travel and commerce, intensifying the need for efficient management and timely completion.
Recently on October last,  the public works department (highway) issued termination notice to the executing agencies for the NH 415 Package B – Woodhill-Shivam and TK Engineering Consortium Pvt Ltd – for failing to achieve the contract agreement terms.
