KHONSA, Jul 26: Boxer Nenthok Hodong, who won gold medal and the title of Best Boxer in the 5th Junior Boys National Boxing Championship- 2023, was given a rousing welcome by Tirapians headed by Deputy Commissioner Hento Karga at Khonsa. The felicitation  program was conducted under the aegis of  Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Tirap district.
While congratulating the gold medalist, the DC said that Nenthok Hodong has made the people of Tirap District and the state proud. "It is like a silver lining in the history of the district which is infamous for all wrong things like drug abuse and other anti social activities," he said adding that young boys of Tirap  should take inspiration and channelize their youthful energy in positive way and stay away from drug abuse. The DC also appreciated the Department of Sports Tirap for its guidance to players.
Among others representatives from All  Ollo Students Union, All Tutsa Students Union, All Tirap Students Union, Ollo Welfare Society and parents were present on the occasion.
Tirap District Olympic Association President, Yum Pangkhu, congratulated the promising boxer Nenthok Hodong and thanked all those who guided and supported him.
