KHONSA, Mar 3: ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’, the flagship initiative of the Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment was conducted here at the community hall of the Circuit House on Tuesday with the theme ‘Awareness with PRI and Anganwadi Workers’ organised jointly by the Tirap District Administration and NGO Care Me Home Welfare Society.
ZPC, Tirap Chathong Lowang, DMO Dr N. Lowang, Circle Officers, ZPMs, Gram Panchayat Chairperson of various Blocks and a huge number of newly elected PRI members attended the programme. CO (Bari-Basip) Nekong Perme on behalf of the DA discussed various issues and laws relating to addiction and the government policies for its curtailment. Resource Person Dr Khogen Socia gave a clinical view of the issues relating to addiction and various physical and social ailments caused by drug addiction. DMO Tirap requested the Panchayat leaders to be active against addiction issues and take precautionary measures.
ZPM, Bari-Basap Tediap Hallang urged the DA to strengthen regulations and vigil at Hukanjuri and Deomali check gates. DIPRO
