WAKRO, Apr 8: As part of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, Kamlang Tiger Reserve and Wildlife Division today organised an outreach campaign on ‘Wildlife Conservation Awareness and Co-existence’ for the school students of Wakro Circle in Lohit district.
Explaining the intention of the initiative, DFO Cheshta Singh said it was aimed at creating awareness on wildlife conservation among the students of the Circle. The students were asked to observe nature and recall the experience in their memory during the walk followed by a quiz competition related to Northeast’s wildlife. The students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya felt enriched with their experience during the forest walk. A drawing competition at Government Primary School, Kanjang and an essay competition at Government Secondary School, Wakro were conducted.
A documentary film on wildlife will also be screened at Don Bosco School as part of the initiative.
