HAYULIANG, Nov 6: At least three months have passed but there is no clue about the two youths who went missing near the McMahon Line in Anjaw District on August last.
The two males, Bayingso Manyu (35)  and Bateilum Tikro (33) had gone to the forest for hunting and to collect some local herbs on 19th August last. It was on 9th October that the family members lodged a missing complaint at the nearest police station of Khupa Village. Bayingso Manyu is from Chiprugam Village, Goliang Circle, while Bateilum Tikro is from Duliang Village, Goliang Circle.
Speaking to the media, Maniso Manyu, the elder brother of Bayingso Manyu informed that villagers often frequent the forests to collect herbs but  this is the first time that locals have gone missing from their own land.
"My brother used to go for hunting  or to collect herbs and other leafy vegetables to sell in the market. It usually takes only eight to ten days for them to return back. This is the first time that he went missing for so many months. From our family side, we have tried our best to reach out to the authorities to help us in the search,” he said.
Deputy Comissioner, Anjaw, Talo Jerang informed that the administration had received the information of the missing youths on 10th October last. "On 24th August last some of my staff saw them in Rosam area near Chaglagam border. From these staff, it was confirmed that they have reached the international border," Jerang said.
"After receiving the missing information, I have directed the SP of Anjaw District to register the missing report. Lookout notices have been also distributed to every police station in the State and the neighbouring Assam. All the Circle Officers of Anjaw District, the public of this whole area have been informed and instructed. We have asked them to use their own local sources to trace the youths. I have also contacted and met the Brigadier of Indian Army of 181 Mountain Brigade to get a clue of these missing youths," Jerang further said.
Local MLA, Dasanglu Pul has confirmed the missing of these two youths. She informed that she has contacted Tapir Gao who is the Member of Parliament (MP) of Eastern Arunachal, to take up this matter with the Union Government. She also informed that she has contacted the Union Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh to talk with the Chinese counterpart as there are apprehensions that these youths  might have been abducted by the PLA.
