ITANAGAR, May 23:  Three from Arunachal Pradesh --Pebika Lego, Tenzin Yangki and Austin Tayeng have cracked the UPSC examinations 2022. The results were announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday. All three are also Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service officers.
Lego bagged All India Rank 290, while Yangki and Tayeng bagged AIR 545 and 747 respectively. Tenzin Yangki is the daughter of former minister Thupten Tempa.
This year, a total number of 933 candidates have been recommended for appointment. All the top four ranks have been secured by girls. Ishita Kishore bagged AIR 1, while Garima Lohia and Uma Harathi N stood second and third, respectively. This is the second time in a row that women candidates have emerged as toppers in India’s prestigious civil services exam.
Congratulating the qualifiers, Chief Minister Pema Khandu tweeted, ‘Heartiest congratulations to Pebika, Tenzin, and Austin. You all have brought great laurels to us. Your feat is inspiring for aspiring Civil Servants. As members of India’s steel frame, I am sure all of you will make us proud by serving the state and the country.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also congratulated the qualifiers. He wrote, ‘Happy to learn that two girls and a boy from Arunachal have cleared the #UPSC Civil Service Exam 2022. Extending my heartiest congratulations to Lego, Yangki, and Dr Tayeng for successfully cracking the UPSC CSE 2022’.
