ITANAGAR, Feb 28: Thousands of people from all walks of life participated in the peaceful candlelight vigil today from Akashdeep to IG Park, to express solidarity and seek justice for late Tumi Gangkak, Under Secretary APPSC, who was found dead in mysterious condition on February 24 last in the outskirts of the state capital.
Speaking to the media, General Secretary Galo Welfare Society (GWS), Nyadar Loya called for a  free & fair investigation into the incident on fast track. "How come a father committed suicide on the birthday of his own daughter? This is totally unacceptable and a pre-planned murder," he said. Moreover, observing the body on the day, we can easily figure out that it is not suicide but a pre-planned murder, he added.
Former Chief Minister Gegong Apang who participated in the candlelight vigil also demanded fair investigation into the incident. Extending condolence to the family, Apang said that the mysterious death of Tumi Gangkak has left behind many questions upon government. 
"There should be support from all corners of the state on this issue to unearth the truth. Moreover, investigation agencies must be given a free hand for a free & fair investigation," added Apang.
A candlelight vigil was also organized at Sagalee by the  Galo community today.
