Itanagar, Aug 30: Minister Industries, Skill Development, Textile & Handicraft, etc GoAP, Tumke Bagra and Director Textile and Handicrafts Haj Dodung along with other dignitaries made a visit to Oju Welfare Association(OWA).
Chairperson OWA, Ratan Anya while welcoming the Minister apprised him of the schemes run by the association viz. Women Helpline-181, Children Home, the lone Specialized
Adoption Agency (SAA) of the state, Swadhar Greh & short stay home for women in distress, Legal Aid Clinic and Vocational Training units. Later they visited all the departments run by OWA and took stock of the activities being rendered, specially by the Handloom & Handicrafts Center. The Minister while remembering his association with founder chairperson Late Binny Yanga in the initial days of 1988, expressed his satisfaction about the gamut of activities and remarked that OWA has become one of the role model organization in the state.
He also assured to extend all possible support to further strengthen the institution and enhance its outreach and intake capacity in various training centers especially in Handloom & Handicrafts. DIPRO
