PASIGHAT, Jul 21: In an initiative of the State Government towards strengthening NCC activities in the frontier state and facilitate best of in-house training facilities for the NCC Cadets of the state, particularly from far flung and remote areas, Education Minister Taba Tedir today laid the foundation stone for Composite National Cadet Corps Complex (NCC Complex) at 2 Mile, Pasighat here in the presence of Local MLA Kaling Moyong, DC Tayi Taggu among others.
Tedir, speaking on the priority given by the State Government to encourage the students and youth to be part of NCC which is guided by the motto of “Unity & Discipline” for their all round growth and nation building, said NCC shapes our youth in a positive path and instill values of patriotism, discipline, physical fitness, team work and pave way for career avenues.  The Minister said that the 100-bedded cadets hostel project for setting up the training academy amounting to Rs.15 Crore has already been sanctioned by the State Government and asked the EE, UD executing agency, UD department to ensure quality and timely completion of the project.
CO 22 AP Bn NCC Pasighat, Lt. Col MS Nijjar also briefed the Minister on the NCC activities undertaken under his jurisdiction and adding that after the completion of the composite NCC Complex, NCC periodic trainings, drills  and Camps will be held within the campus with all required facilities. 
Cadets from Central and East Arunachal, both from adjoining and those from border and remote areas will be much benefited. NCC Cadets will be provided training for appearing in National level Camps and Competitions including Recruitment rallies of the Armed Forces, Central & State, Paramilitary and Police Forces.
22 AP BN NCC Pasighat is the oldest and largest NCC Unit of Arunachal Pradesh, established in 1964 in JN College, Pasighat. Many officers working in central and state departments, entrepreneurs, public leaders and others have been associated and been part of this NCC Unit.
It may be mentioned that under the flagship of PM, for expansion of NCC in border and coastal areas of the country,  24 new institutions were opened in schools and colleges in 10 districts of the state including,  border areas like Mechuka, Tato, Moingong, Tuting and Anini. So the setting up the NCC infrastructure will address numerous challenges like providing periodic mandatory training, Annual Training camps, Drill practices etc. DIPRO, Pasighat
