PASIGHAT Apr 1: In the second leg of his developmental tour to Bodak, Silluk, Aohali and Sigar villages today, Lombo Tayeng sanctioned the basic funds required for developmental works amid much appreciation from the locals.
At Bodak, he sanctioned funds for re-carpeting of village link road up to Trans-Arunachal Highway covering around 3KM, revamping of Sibot Hydel Project to feed sufficient power for Bodak and Ayeng village and CGI sheets. At Silluk village, a sum of Rs. 25 lakhs was sanctioned for flood protection from Silluk Korong (river) and Lugo Korong (river) as these two rivers have been posing great threat to the village. And to the demand of School Management Committee for a posting of Chowkidar/peon and electrification of UPS, Silluk he suggested DDSE, East Siang, Jongge Yirang to look into it departmentally.
While at Aohali, the last village of Mebo Sub-Division toward Dambuk which is a lone Mishmi village in East Siang District, Tayeng distributed CGI sheets for compulsory home to each households of the village totalling 31 houses. A sum of Rs. 5 lakhs cheque was also handed over to village ASM, Dinesh Mepola, who happens to be the ASM Chairperson of Mebo Banggo as an initiative to encourage community farming of Mithun. Tayeng said that, if Mithuns are reared in large numbers the same can boost the economy of the village. He also assured to allot funds for construction of village link road.
While wrapping up the tour at Sigar village, Tayeng agreed upon re-carpeting of road from Patang Korong Tiniali to Mebo Road via Army camp. He also urged the villagers to judiciously use the funds sanctioned recently for flood protection on Siku river. A sum of Rs. 50 lakhs was recently allotted for the flood protection work and additional funds of Rs. 1 Crore from State CAMPA will be released shortly, added Tayeng. He also informed the Sigar villagers that, if these sanctioned funds are used properly, additional funds of Rs. 1.5 Crore will also be allotted to them next year so that the village is completely protected from the river. He also sanctioned a sum of Rs. 1.5 lakh for the purpose of construction of Donyi-Polo Dere.
