ITANAGAR, Jul 17: Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs Mama Natung today felicitated Taw Pakba, who became the first from the state to win a Bronze medal in the 5th Youth National Boxing Championship held at Chennai recently.
Speaking to reporters, Natung said that the entire state is proud of the achievement and every possible help was ensured from his department. He said the felicitation program is also an approach by the state government to recognize the achievement of the sportspersons as well as to boost their morale. Natung said that Pakba as a teenager had higher prospects to win for the state in every championship. The boy has made the state proud and also his parents, he said.
Advising that the boxing association and the coach should ensure that regular training continues for the medalist, Natung said “The sports department is on a regular basis monitoring the achievement of athletes so that they are being provided better facilities to participate and win for the state and the country."
