PASIGHAT, Aug 14: Taking a significant initiative in advancing the vision for state’s medical education and state of the art healthcare infra, affordable quality health care services for the people, Minister for RD & PR, OjingTasing along with Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao convened a consultative meeting with MLAs, members of civil society to seek their suggestions for establishment of Medical College at Bakin Pertin General Hospital(BPGH),Pasighat at an estimated project cost of Rs.1063.94 Cr.
Tasing welcomed the views and suggestions from the legislators and members of civil societies and stakeholders in pushing forward the proposal for long term planning for future expansion and setting benchmarks of excellence in providing super speciality healthcare for the patients of the region and state of the art healthcare facilities and the aspirations of the local community. The objective of the meeting was to bring together stakeholders for a preliminary review of the infrastructure design/masterplan of the proposed Medical College and hospital building prepared by consultants and get feedback and discuss scope for future expansion and fast tracking the procedures for establishment.
State BJP President Kaling Moyong , MLAs Ninong Ering, Tapi Darang, Oken Tayeng, Talem Taboh, Alo Libang, Oni Panyang, Punyo Apum were also present.
Tasing alongwith MLAs, DC Sonalika Jiwani , SP Pankaj Lamba, Jt DHS BPGH , Dr.T.Tali , DMO Yagling Perme also inspected the site for the proposed medical college.
One of key objectives is to utlise PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission and establish a state of the art medical college & hospital at Pasighat to fulfil the regional health care needs and align with National Health Mission in the oldest town in Arunachal Pradesh catering to large demands of patients requiring speciality care, provide skilled professionals within the state, boost healthcare ,generate employment and promote Pasighat as health care hub.
