ITANAGAR, Oct 28: Yatuk Mra Nalo, sister of Everester Tapi Mra has demanded the state government to bring back her brother dead or alive and also sought action against the East Kameng District Deputy Commissioner PA Polumatla for his alleged negligence in handling the initial search and rescue operation.
Yatuk, who went to meet Chief Minister Pema Khandu at his office to place her two-point memorandum, could not meet the CM. However, she submitted her memorandum to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) today.  
Speaking to reporters, she said that the state government should immediately bring back her brother dead or alive. Also, the department of sports & youth affairs should take responsibility for bringing Mra back.
She said, if the state government fails to do so, she along with family members will pitch a tent in front of the office of the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs until the demands are met.
“It was the Department of Youth Affairs who gave official order to my brother to explore Mount Khayarisattam. Therefore, the department should immediately act upon the demand and bring back my brother dead or alive,” she said, adding that the state government should not ignore the demand.
She also refuted the claims of the department that Mra was not officially ordered to take on the expedition. She said the department should not make such excuses that Mra took off for the expedition ‘on request’.
“Fortunately, we have the order copy issued by the department to Mra. Moreover, the order copy was also provided to every single official of the East Kameng district before he left for the expedition,” she added.  Yatuk also alleged that it was due to the negligence, and arrogant behavior of the DC, the first search and rescue operation failed. She said if the DC had accepted her request to involve mountaineers Tagit Sorang and Tame Bagang in the search operation along with the Indian Army, hopefully, both could have been rescued.

Mra and Niku Dao went missing almost 2 months ago when they were on a mission to explore the snow-capped mount Khayarisattam in East Kameng district.
A week ago, the second 13-member search and rescue team headed by mountaineer Tagit Sorang found the belongings of the missing mountaineers which includes Indian Flag, walkie-talkies, sleeping bags, and state flag. However, the team couldn’t affirm if the duo were alive or dead as nobody was found in the area.
