Namsai, Mar 19: The 20th Tadar Tang State Level Football Tournament (SLFT) continued with fierce competition and high-octane football action across all four zones. As the tournament heats up, teams are showcasing their talent and determination to advance to the Final Round.
In Zone 1 at Namsai, the day began with Anjaw securing a dramatic 3-2 win over Tirap. Anjaw’s goals came from Amani Ritti in the 41st and 65th minute, and Wangkes Lowang in the 68th minute. Tirap attempted a comeback with John Das scoring in the 70th minute and Lihang Sumaya adding another in the 87th minute, but it wasn’t enough to avoid defeat. The second match of the day saw Changlang dominating Dibang Valley with a comfortable 3-0 victory. Goals from Limtu Jugli (53rd minute), Bhima Barman (65th minute), and Manwan Mossang (66th minute) ensured an emphatic win for Changlang. The final match of the zone witnessed Lower Dibang Valley clinch a 2-1 victory over Namsai. Kalen Ratan scored in the 14th minute and Pidi Umbrey added another in the 59th minute. Namsai’s only goal came from a self goal by Andokho Meto in the 70th minute.
Zone 2, held at Nari, Lower Siang, saw intense battles as Lower Siang and East Siang played out a 1-1 draw. East Siang’s Kamin Darin scored in the 62nd minute, while Lower Siang’s equalizer came from Rimen Nguba in the 84th minute. Upper Siang displayed their dominance over Shi Yomi with a 2-0 victory. Goals from Totem Dangkin in the 85th minute and Dupak Peyang in the 90+2 minute secured the win. Siang also maintained their strong form by defeating Leparada 3-1. Hanu Tari scored a brace with goals in the 24th and 31st minutes, and Kangkinam Tari added another in the 87th minute. Leparada’s only response came from Dorik Lendo’s 42nd-minute strike.
At Daporijo, Upper Subansiri, the Zone 3 matches produced some exciting moments. Keyi Panyor earned a narrow 1-0 victory over Kamle, thanks to Taug Sera’s 41st-minute goal. Kurung Kumey defeated Lower Subansiri 1-0 with a goal by Tolum Pinku in the 38th minute. In the final match of the day, Kra Daadi showcased their offensive prowess by thrashing Upper Subansiri 4-0. Khrish Swargiary opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, followed by a brilliant brace from Khyoda Mark with goals in the 13th and 22nd minutes. Miching Naidu added the fourth goal in the 78th minute, sealing a comprehensive victory for Kra Daadi.
Zone 4 at Tawang continued to deliver entertaining football. Capital Complex completely outplayed West Kameng with a dominant 8-0 win. The goal fest began with Nabam Peri scoring in the 5th minute, followed by strikes from Damli Bomnyo (13th and 82nd minutes), Omin Panging (37th, 58th, and 76th minutes), Toku Punung (46th minute), and an own goal by Manish Rai in the 48th minute. East Kameng emerged victorious in a high-scoring encounter against Pakke Kessang, winning 5-3. East Kameng’s scorers included Akash Kino (10th minute), Gobin Kino (18th, 63rd, and 85th minutes), and Baro Liyak (26th minute). Pakke Kessang responded with goals from Sancha Tayam (4th minute), Daniel Tayam (7th minute), and Hera Dada (29th minute), but they fell short of turning the match around.
The final match of Zone 4 saw Bichom claim a 3-1 win over Tawang. Bichom’s Samuel Chongruju (34th minute), Patras Rikhingju (41st minute), and Govind Depeang (80th minute) all found the net. Tawang’s only response came from Tsering Sandup’s 76th-minute strike.
As the tournament progresses, excitement continues to build across all zones. Tomorrow’s fixtures promise even more riveting action. In Zone 1 at Namsai, the matches will see Tirap taking on Lohit, while Changlang will face Lower Dibang Valley, and Namsai will play against Dibang Valley. In Zone 2 at Nari, Lower Siang, the day will feature a clash between Siang and Shi Yomi, followed by East Siang against Leparada, and West Siang battling it out with Lower Siang.
The Zone 3 fixtures at Daporijo, Upper Subansiri, will have Kamle locking horns with Kurung Kumey, while Upper Subansiri will be up against Keyi Panyor, and APPSCB will face Kra Daadi in the final match of the day. Meanwhile, Zone 4 action at Tawang will showcase a battle between Capital Complex and Pakke Kessang, East Kameng facing off against Tawang, and West Kameng taking on Bichom.
