ITANAGAR, Jun 1: Expressing resentment over the lackadaisical attitude of the government  towards its demands, the All Arunachal Pradesh Abotani Students’ Union (AAPATSU),  has decided to launch a peaceful rally from Akashdeep to IG Park near here on June 4 next.
Addressing mediapersons at the press club here today, AAPATSU President Langpu Apon said that they had submitted their representation to Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein for permanent solution on ST and PRC issue of six communities in Lekang constituency and also cancellation of Non-APST elected in Panchayat leaders.
He said the union had also sent a reminder letter along with a 20 days ultimatum, which expired a few days back but the DCM is yet to respond to it. Hence, the union has decided to launch democratic movement against the government.
“We notice that this issue will hamper the interest of the indigenous people of the state in future if we do not solve the matter permanently. 
The union has also received two representations from the two different associations of Lekang area who are seeking our intervention in the same matter,” he said, adding that now, the union can sense that the matter is of grave concern for the state.
He said a representation has been submitted to the DCM, and a copy to the Chief Minister, appealing to redress the issue of Mishings, Deoris, Morans, Ahoms, Kacharis and Adivasis without any further delay. It also demanded the cancellation of Non-APST elected representatives of the Lekang ST constituency.
