Daporijo, Feb 18: Under the Field & Press Publicity, the District Administration in collaboration with Department of Information & Public Relations Upper Subansiri District organized a one day awareness campaign on Drug Abuse at VKV School Kuporijo.
Inaugurating the week-long Field & Press Publicity awareness program,  Tasso Gambo Deputy Commissioner Upper Subansiri District said that the drug abuse and drug menace in the district is reportedly at an alarming stage. The illegal consumption of drugs needs to be eradicated at the grassroots level at an early stage, else it will affect  future generation and civil society as a whole.
Furthermore he urged all stakeholders and community based organisations to deeply monitor and alert the activities of unwanted drug users and suppliers and  inform authorities and police for timely action.
Among others Dakmin Giba ,Psychologist Drugs & Tobacco DMO office Daporijo, briefly explained about the illegal and legal drugs and its ill-effect.
About 150 VKV students actively participated in the awareness program. DIPRO
