LONGDING, May 22: The Longding District Students' Union (LDSU) has raised serious concern regarding the alleged illegal appointment of Primary Teachers (PRTs) in various schools within Longding district. The union recently visited the office of the District Education Officer (DDSE) in Longding to inquire about the matter and has claimed to have found evidence supporting their allegations.
According to President LDSU , Tingngo Wangsu,  an investigation conducted by their members revealed that 28 individuals have been appointed as regular PRTs in violation of the prescribed rules and regulations. These appointments are alleged to have taken place without following the proper recruitment procedures and without the requisite qualifications being met.
Expressing their distress over the issue, the LDSU is urging higher authorities to take immediate action against the defaulters involved in these illegal appointments. They are calling for appropriate disciplinary measures to be taken against those responsible and for the removal of the unlawfully appointed teachers. If authority fails to take any action, LDSU may resort to a democratic, movement, added Wangsu.
The alleged illegal appointments have raised concerns among the community and have the potential to negatively impact the quality of education in Longding district. The LDSU emphasizes the importance of fair and transparent recruitment processes in ensuring the appointment of qualified and deserving candidates who can contribute effectively to the education system, the union said.
Speaking to the media, DDSE Longding, Take Jilen clarified that, he has no knowledge about such appointments, as he has been newly transferred.  Officials who were posted as  DDSE in the district before me, could have information about the appointments, asserted Jillen while terming the incident "unfortunate if the reports are true."
