ITANAGAR, May 24: In a story of happy endings, a10-year old Arunachalee girl who had lost her way home was rescued by the North Lakhimpur Police and Child Welfare Committee (CWC) from Lakhimpur on Tuesday. 

The girl identified as Bengia Monku, a student of Class-III, was returning from Karsingsa to Kimin on Tuesday, however missed the bus plying on the route and was stranded at Lakhimpur town till evening. Fortunately she was spotted by a Police team who rescued her and handed her to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).     

Accordingly, OC Women Police Station Itanagar, Chukhu Nanu Bui was informed by the Child Line who later passed on the message to the guardian of the girl.  One Bengia Tamgh (GB) and grandfather of the girl drove down to the Office of the Child Welfare Committee North Lakhimpur, on Wednesday morning and took custody of the girl after completing necessary formalities.
